The Alternative "Green Deal"
The Green Deal is available in Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Pontypridd, Merthyr - in fact throughout S.Wales, and is "a programme to make homes more energy efficient".
The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF)
will open at midday on Monday 16th March 2015
The third release of the GDHIF will open at midday on Monday 16th March 2015.
£70 million has been allocated - that is only 18,666 applications thinly spread across the UK.
The second release of the GDHIF opened at 9am on Wednesday 9th December 2014 and closed for External Wall Insulation at about 2.30pm the next day.
It took only 29 hours to dispose of the £24 million – that’s more than 200 applications per hour, or £13,793 per minute! This followed the first release in June when £120 million went in 6 weeks, and was prematurely closed.
Many more people have been waiting 3 months and are now prepared and ready to apply. I know Martin Lewis ( the money saving expert ) thinks it will last a week - I don't think it will last a day!!
It is now obvious that the only way to get your hands on some of this money is to get everything in place in advance, so that when the clock strikes 12 on Monday 16th March, you will only need to make your formal application.
With this in mind, we are still carrying out assessments in readiness of the opening of the third release of funds.
Under the Green Deal, properties will be able to have energy efficiency improvements without the owners having to find the cash up front. Instead, businesses will provide the cost, getting their money back via the energy bill.
In it's simplest terms The Green Deal is aPay as you Save Plan.
However, there is a "Golden Rule" which states that the amount that you pay will not exceed the amount that you save. To find out the full facts about the Green Deal click here
