IMPORTANT NOTICE
If your property’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) has an A, B, or C rating, you will not qualify for an Eco Grant! But you will qualify for an ECO4+ Grant. Hopefully, this flowchart will make things a little clearer.
Below is a list of all qualifying benefits. Housing Benefit has been added to the list. However, all of the “allowances” have been removed.
Do I qualify for a grant? Here are a few important points to note.
- The benefit must be registered at the address that is applying for the Grant.

- If you own the property, your name must appear in a Land Registry search.
- If you are a private tenant, your landlord will have to consent to the energy efficiency improvements being installed. Your landlord must be listed as an owner of the property at the Land Registry.

Do I qualify for a Grant if I get Child Benefit?
Yes, you would qualify for a grant if you claim Child Benefit and have an annual income no greater than the appropriate threshold.
The threshold varies between single people and couples, and depends on the number of children you have. See the table below. So, 2 adults with 2 children would have an income threshold of £32,300.
Number of children | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
1 adult household | £19,900 | £24,800 | £29,600 | £34,500 |
2 adult household | £27,500 | £32,300 | £37,200 | £42,000 |
If you do not qualify based on the benefits listed above, have a look at LA Flex which is another qualifying route.
